WEATHERING A DISASTER AT SQUID INK BOOKS !
 JULY 2008

Our revamping project (see below) was moving along quite well. Received our next-to-last delivery of seven new oak cases and set up the US mysteries, Tony Hillerman, and Horror titles in these cases. After we returned from a trip to the Midwest, I discovered that the shelves had not been properly sealed when manufactured and that stain/oil had leached into the bottom board edges of many of the books on the new shelves. This is a disastrous setback for us, and I've been working hard to sort out what to do with the damaged books. Some will go off to Friends of the Library and others will be listed again at much reduced prices.

While we recover from this catastrophe, all of our inventory at ABE and Biblio has been taken offline and will probably not return until the end of the month (July 2008).

In the meantime, our premium titles can be browsed here on the web page. Fortunately, only a small number of the books listed on this web page have been damaged.  I'll be adjusting the listings for these as soon as possible. Then I'll work on sorting out our ABE and Biblio listings so I can get those back online.

CHANGES AT SQUID INK BOOKS - May 2008

 We are revamping Squid Ink Books in a number of ways,
and we want to alert our customers. 

• We are no longer listing books priced at less than $30.00 on our web page -- except for our titles by Tony Hillerman and Dennis McMillan Publications. If you want to browse our books priced from $10.00 up to $30.00, you can do this at ABE or Biblio. Discounts will still be available, if you contact us directly.

• We are remodeling our book casita in Tucson to make it more friendly for customers who stop by to browse our books. When we are done we'll post before and after photos on the web site.

•  As a result of this remodeling, our shelf space will be considerably reduced. Because of this we are offering highly discounted prices, only to our catalogue customers, on titles that have been on the shelves too long. The price reductions are mostly in the mystery, sci/fi, horror, and fantasy genres. Our next several catalogues will continue these reductions, but will also alert our catalogue customers to recent arrivals.
